Kagoshima (鹿児島)
Kagoshima is Kyushu's southern most major city and the capital of Kagoshima Prefecture. Also known as Sakurajima, an active volcano that faces Kinko Bay.
At its base, the Nagisa Lava Trail leads to lava boulders and pine trees.

Senganen Garden
Senganen constructed in 1658 was a summer villa and contained Lord Shimadzu's beautiful Japanese style landscape garden that contain many historic relics.
Kagoshima Aquarium
Interesting aquarium in the Kagoshima Port area. The aquarium's most impressive attraction is its massive Kuroshio Tank, which holds fish of all sizes.
Shiyoma Park
Mountain top park with a viewpoint over the city. The park is most famous for its Shiroyama Observatory with spectacular views over downtown Kagoshima, Kagoshima Bay and Sakurajima.
Reimeiken Museum
Reimeikan, Kagoshima Prefectural Center for Historical Material opened in Kagoshima, Japan, in 1983. The museum, located in the grounds of Tsurumaru Castle, exhibits materials relating to the history and culture of Kagoshima Prefecture.
